This topic deals with the addition and subtraction of scalar and vector quantities mainly using the vector component method.

Kinematics.?

This topic deals with the mathematics of motion. It focuses on the application of appropriate equations when solving problems which involve distance, displacement, velocity and acceleration. It also covers the use of velocity-time graphs for describing and interpreting motion.

Newton’s laws of motion.?

This topic deals with the relationships that exist between force and motion. It focuses on the use of the laws of motion to solving problems.

Work, energy and power.?

This topic deals with the basic concepts of potential and kinetic energy. It focuses on the use of the work-energy theorem and the law of conservation of energy when solving problems.

Linear momentum.?

This topic deals with the law of conservation of linear momentum, elastic and inelastic collisions and impulse. It focuses on the application of these principles to solving problems.

Rotational motion.?

This topic deals with the basic concepts of uniform circular motion such as angular speed, angular acceleration and their relations to tangential quantities. It also covers centripetal acceleration and force and the application of appropriate equations to solving problems.

Waves.?
